Hutt Street General Practice in the City recognises that a person’s health and wellbeing are personal and that our role is to provide healthcare in a manner best suited to each of the people who visit us for advice and support.

Hutt Street General Practice is owned by South Australians who first set up a general practice in the western suburbs of Adelaide in 1980. 

Apart from their day-to-day consultations on general health issues, our doctors’ areas of special interest also include paediatrics, chronic illness and depression, sexual and reproductive health, dermatology and chronic fatigue syndrome.

As a mixed billing practice, fees may apply, with full payment expected on the day of your consultation. Please note as Doctors at the practice are independent contractors, fees may vary between practitioners. A more detailed fee guide is available below.

We are open 5 days a week from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Appointments


Consultations are by appointment only. Please advise our receptionist when calling if you need to see a doctor urgently.

If there is a medical emergency, one of our staff members will attend to you immediately.

To reduce waiting times and ensure the best possible practice experience, please book a double appointment for medicals, mental health, pap smears and complex health issues.

Please book an appointment for each person if more than one family member wishes to see the Doctor.

Please give the Clinic 24 hours’ notice if you cannot keep an appointment, and to avoid incurring a fee.

After Hours Care


After-hours care is available via our after-hours Locum Doctor service, “Hello Home Doctor”. The Locum Doctor may liaise with the Clinic Doctors if medically required.

Call the Clinic number to be transferred to our Locum service after hours or call “Hello Home Doctor” directly on 134 100.

Practice Communication


At Your Health Clinics, we strive to provide easy and equitable access to our health care services. To facilitate this, we offer 24-hour online access to our appointment booking system, as well as face-to-face and telehealth communication options.

Your Health Clinics work by appointment only and while we will always assist in the case of medical emergencies and will offer next available appointments where possible, we are not a walk-in clinic and cannot provide immediate face-to-face or telehealth access to doctors and nurses.

Our friendly administration staff will be your first point of contact and are trained to triage your call, this may require follow up questions to most appropriately determine the urgency of your health needs. Our administration team can also provide you with up-to-date clinic information and policies, assist you to manage your appointment booking and ensure that you can access the care that you require.

Home Visits


Home visits may be available for regular patients if you cannot visit the clinic and live in close vicinity.

Alternatively, our after-hours service can provide a Locum Doctor visit to you. Call the Clinic number to be transferred to our Locum service after hours or call “Hello Home Doctor” directly on 134 100.

Billing Arrangements


Your Health Clinics at Hutt St is a mixed billing practice; all Patient consults will incur a fee with full payment expected on the day of your consultation.

*Concession fees may be applied for Pensioners, Health Care Card Holders and Children under 16 years, please discuss with Administrative Staff at the time of booking.

Private Fees apply where a patient is not eligible for a Medicare rebate. Full payment is expected on the day of your consultation and you will be required to follow up with your individual health insurance provider for any applicable rebate.

*Telehealth gap fees apply for all telephone consultations, if you have not been seen at the clinic for more than 12 months than the Medicate rebate is not applicable and the total fee must be paid at the time of consultation.

Additional fees may apply for specialised appointments, including for mental health treatment plans, minor procedures, spirometry, iron infusion, 24-hour BP monitor, and specialised dressings for wound care.

** Fees can vary depending on the individual Health Practitioner, please confirm the applicable fee with Administration Staff at the time of booking.

Full payment which includes the gap fee and Medicare rebate fee can may be made by EFTPOS or credit card. Staff can assist in submitting your Medicare rebate claim at the time of payment.

Failure to Attend


Please notify us 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend an appointment. A $40 fee ($60 for double appointments) will apply if you fail to attend an appointment. Medicare does not cover this fee.

Dr Peter Del Fante | BOOK APPOINTMENT

All new patients for Dr Peter Del Fante, please call the practice. Dr Peter Del Fante graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1987 and has worked as a general practitioner since 1990. His special interests include preventative and lifestyle medicine, aviation medicine (DAME), chronic disease management, ME/CFS/Long COVID, dermatology and skin lesion surgery. He speaks Italian.

Dr Con Tsourtos | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr Con Tsourtos graduated in 1985 from the University of Adelaide. He has more than 30 years’ experience in general practice having worked across SA from the Adelaide Hills to Millicent in the South East. Dr Tsourtos is a valued member of our GP team. He speaks Greek.

Dr Jess Donaghue | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Jess sees well-being as an essential aspect of health and is thorough and caring in her approach to health issues. She loves the diversity in General Practice, with interests in women’s health, TGDNB health, sexual health, and general well-being. She has worked at Logan Hospital, Cairnes Base Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital. Jess offers a mix of telehealth and face-to-face appointments. Early morning appointments are also available. As longer appointments attract a higher fee, please bring only one item to each appointment.

Dr Summaya Balouch | CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT

Dr Balouch has worked at Royal Adelaide Hospital, Woman’s and Children Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital before starting her training in General Practice. She believes in caring and empathetic approach and involvement of patients in decision making about their care and health. She likes the diversity of General Practice with particular interest in woman’s health, working with children, mental health issues and geriatric health.

Dr Jehan Senevirate | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr Jehan Seneviratne graduated in 2014 from University of Western Sydney. He has trained extensively in the hospital system throughout New South Wales gaining experience in Emergency, pediatrics and obstetrics rotations. Jehan moved to Adelaide to complete his general practice training and enjoys all aspects of General Practice, with an interest in palliative care, geriatrics and chronic health management. He is proficient in minor surgical procedures and is accredited in Implanon insertion and removal.
