Adelaide Medical Solutions at Woodville recognises that a person’s health and wellbeing are personal and that our role is to provide healthcare in a manner best suited to each of the people who visit us for advice and support.

Adelaide Medical Solutions is owned by South Australians who first set up a general practice in the western suburbs of Adelaide in 1980.

Visiting specialists also provide support for our Clinic in the areas of Geriatrics, ENT, Surgical and Orthopaedic management.

Other healthcare services are also available within our Clinic. There is a Dental clinic, an Audiologist, a Pharmacy, Pathology, Psychology, Radiology, Podiatry and Diabetes Educator.

As a mixed billing practice, we generally offer bulk billing to concession card holders, pension cardholders and children under the age of 16. Please note as Doctors at the practice are independent contractors, fees may vary between practitioners. Detailed information on billing arrangements follows.

We are open 6 days a week, from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 5.30 pm on Saturdays. Fees vary before 8am and after 5pm on weekdays and on Saturdays after 1pm, see below more for details.

Appointments


Consultations are by appointment only. Please advise our receptionist when calling if you need to see a doctor urgently.

If there is a medical emergency, one of our staff members will attend to you immediately.

To reduce waiting times and ensure the best possible practice experience, please book a double appointment for medicals, mental health, pap smears and complex health issues.

Please book an appointment for each person if more than one family member wishes to see the Doctor.

Please give the Clinic 24 hours’ notice if you cannot keep an appointment, and to avoid incurring a fee.

After Hours Care


After-hours care is available via our after-hours Locum Doctor service, “Hello Home Doctor”. The Locum Doctor may liaise with the Clinic Doctors if medically required.

Call the Clinic number to be transferred to our Locum service after hours or call “Hello Home Doctor” directly on 134 100.

Practice Communication


At Your Health Clinics, we strive to provide easy and equitable access to our health care services. To facilitate this, we offer 24-hour online access to our appointment booking system, as well as face-to-face and telehealth communication options.

Adelaide Medical Solutions works by appointment only and while we will always assist in the case of medical emergencies and will offer next available appointments where possible, we are not a walk-in clinic and cannot provide immediate face-to-face or telehealth access to doctors and nurses.

Our friendly administration staff will be your first point of contact and are trained to triage your call, this may require follow-up questions to most appropriately determine the urgency of your health needs.

Our administration team can also provide you with up-to-date clinic information and policies, assist you in managing your appointment booking and ensure that you can access the care that you require.

All patient information is kept in strict confidence and is in accordance with the current privacy legislation. For more information, please see our Clinic Privacy Policy.

Home Visits


Home visits may be available for regular patients if you cannot visit the clinic and live in close vicinity.

Alternatively, our after-hours service can provide a Locum Doctor visit to you. Call the Clinic number to be transferred to our Locum service after hours or call “Hello Home Doctor” directly on 134 100.

Billing Arrangements


Pensioners, Health Care Card Holders and Children 15 and under will only be charged the Medicare rebate on Weekdays between 8am to 5pm, outside of these times an out-of-pocket gap fee will apply.

Private Fees apply where a patient is not eligible for a Medicare rebate. Full payment is expected on the day of your consultation and you will be required to follow up with your individual health insurance provider for any applicable rebate.

Full payment which includes the gap fee and Medicare rebate fee is expected on the day of consultation. Staff can assist in submitting your Medicare rebate claim at the time of payment.

Fees vary before 8am and after 5pm on weekdays and on Saturdays after 1pm, see table above for details. If you would like clarification, please confirm the applicable fee with Administration Staff at the time of booking.

Gap fees are not applicable for Chronic Disease Management Plans, Health Assessments or Government funded Vaccine clinics.

*Concession fees applied for Pensioners, Health Care Card Holders and Children under 16 years.

**Telehealth gap fees apply for all telephone consultations, if you have not been seen at the clinic for more than 12 months than the Medicate rebate is not applicable and the total fee must be paid at the time of consultation.

***Additional private fees apply for minor surgical procedures, Iron Infusions, 24hr BP Monitoring, Dressings and Spirometry Assessments, please see the Administration team for full details.

Full payment which includes the gap fee and Medicare rebate fee can be made by EFTPOS or credit card.

Failure to Attend


Please notify us 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend or no longer require an appointment. This allows adequate time to offer the appointment to another patient. Failure to provide notice will incur a $30 fee (or $60 fee for double appointments). Medicare does not cover this fee.

Woodville Doctors

Dr Girolamo Vinci | CALL FOR APPOINTMENT

Dr Girolamo Vinci is the principal of our medical group. He is a graduate of the University of Adelaide and has been involved in general practice for more than 30 years. His areas of special interest include family medicine, injuries, work health and aged care. Dr Vinci speaks Italian as his second language.

Dr Paul Vaska | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr Vaska graduated in medicine in India and has worked in general practice for more than 28 years. General practice and Work injury are his special areas of interest along with surgical work. He practised in the NT and Salisbury before coming to Woodville.

Dr Siti Ibramsha | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Women’s and children’s health are the main interests of Dr Siti Ibramsha. A graduate of the University of Adelaide, she has been in general practice for more than 9 years and worked at Salisbury Heights before joining our Woodville team. Dr Siti Ibramsha also speaks Malay.

Dr Daniel Ashrafi | CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT

Dr Ashrafi graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2013 and is currently enrolled in the RACGP GP Registrar Fellowship program. He has worked across a number rural and city locations, with hospital and clinic positions across the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Ardrossan Community Hospital, Central Yorke Peninsula Hospital and Adelaide City. During his training he has developed skills in emergency medicine, teaching and minor procedures. He enjoys the diversity of general practice and is happy to see all patients.

Dr William Brooks | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr Brookes is one of our most experienced doctors with more than 43 years in general practice. He is a graduate of the University of Adelaide and since he graduated he has worked as a GP across the metropolitan area of Adelaide. His special interests include muscular skeletal issues, sports injury, children and work and motor vehicle injury.

Dr Bathiya Alwis-Jayasinghe | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr Jay has more than 36 years’ experience in general practice following his graduation in Colombo, Ceylon (now Shri Lanka). During that time he has worked as a GP in the NT at Alice Springs, in NSW’s Blue Mountains and in South Australia at Bordertown, Norwood and now Woodville. Dr Jay’s special interests include diagnosis and treatment of skin disorders, aged care, trauma and surgical diagnosis. He speaks Sinhalese.

Dr Shaikh Anjuman Ara | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr Shaikh Anjuman Ara came to Australia from Bangladesh with her doctor husband in 2009 and for the past five years she has been living and working in Whyalla in South Australia. Dr Ara gained her degree and professional registration in Bangladesh and since arriving in Australia she has become a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and gained a Diploma in Child Health. In Whyalla, she worked in general practice and in the city’s accident and emergency department which involved pediatric emergencies and responding to house and emergency calls for patients. Before moving to Whyalla, Dr Ara worked as a clinical observer at the Repatriation General Hospital at Daw Park. Dr Ara has more than 10 years of overseas clinical experience.

Dr Sally Cole | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr Sally Cole has practised medicine in the city, in the outback with the Royal Flying Doctor Service and in remote mining industry settlements. A graduate of Adelaide University, Dr Cole is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was one of the first general practitioners to enter a Federal Government program to encourage GPs to work in remote areas through the Royal Flying Doctor's Service Rural Women's GP program. Her time with the mining industry involved setting up medical clinics at Prominent Hill in SA and at the Beverley Uranium Mine and providing on-call support to nursing staff. Apart from her rural experience, Dr Cole has worked at family medical centres in suburban Adelaide.

Dr Patrick White | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr White graduated from Flinders University in 2016. He has worked in most of the major hospitals in Adelaide gaining experience in acute mental health, geriatric medicine, and internal medicine. During his training he worked across all of metropolitan Adelaide and developed skills in Aboriginal Health, implanon insertion, minor skin excisions, and iron infusions. He enjoys all aspects of general practice, and when he is not at work he likes to spend time with his whippet Agatha.

Dr Giovanni Melino | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr Melino graduated from Flinders University and since then has had wide exposure across Australia and New Zealand before starting General Practice training. He enjoys all aspects of General Practice with particular interests in Paediatrics, Family Medicine and General Surgery with skills in Minor Procedures. Areas of interest: Ingrown Toe Nails, Skin Excision, Paediatrics, Family Medicine, Minor Procedures

Dr. Matthew Truong | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr. Matthew Truong graduated from Flinders University and has worked at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre and the Women's and Children's Hospital before commencing General Practice Training. His special interests include chronic disease management, paediatrics, palliative care, and geriatrics.

Dr Nasreen Wilson | BOOK APPOINTMENT

Dr Nasreen Wilson graduated from Madras University in 1970 and trained for Fellowship in Anaesthesia at the RAH. Dr Nasreen has been in general practice since 1975 and enjoys all aspects of general practice with special interests in Women's health, Drug & Alcohol - Addictive Medicine, Chronic Pain, chronic disease and Fibromyalgia.
